Kashmir is a region in northern India, while cashmere is a type of wool obtained from the undercoat of cashmere goats.

ARI EMBROIDERY
Ari embroidery, originating in Kashmir, India, is a traditional form of hand embroidery that utilizes a hook-like needle known as an “ari”.
“Ari design” is commonly applied to thicker cashmere and wool.
